- Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 (PS3)
- Condemned 2 (360)
- Viking: Battle for Asgard (360)
- Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games (DS)
Let’s take a look:
- Condemned 2 seemed to sell really well considering the lack of hype around it, but at the same time, it seems a little deflated sitting at 8 in the chart. But then again, against rabid PS3 owners, and the Wii’s cashing in of the Olympics, it didn’t really have a chance. And with Vegas 2 being the major purchase (I’ve not seen a single copy in my town’s game stores) for 360 gamers, it doesn’t come as much of a surprise. Still, I expected more.
- The gullable Wii market is something that I will never get to grips with. Nor will I understand why so many people are buying the DS version, knowing full well that chances are, the screen is going to get near enough destroyed. Give me Track and Field on an emulator anyday.
And now for the surprises:
- 30. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (Down 11): With the amount of idiots on Xbox Live now, and the latency on the games, I was surprised to see this actually go down. Maybe they’ve all bought the GOTY edition, after hearing that they would get the new levels included on that. But then again, someone was under the impression that the levels would only be around for 21 days.
- 23. Command & Conquer 3: Kane’s Wrath (Down 11): Considering the success of the Command and Conquer series, I was surprised that the RA3 Beta Test key wasn’t pulling more people in. Then again, last week I was surprised that it didn’t make the top ten at all.
I really must be overestimating the PC Market, because I got some of my ideas really wrong. I’m grimacing at the thought of people getting Mario Kart Wii, because managing to race on Nintendo’s WFC system online is going to be almost tragic. However, one thing will make it tragic; the lack of adding friends in. Why, you ask? Friend Codes are going to kill that idea.
